There is a two minute version uploaded on VIMEO for the Katy Perry Contest!
https://vimeo.com/75933088

Our school, Cerritos High School (Cerritos, CA), is known for having a diverse demographic, competitive sports, and high academic standards. We focused on 5 main groups (Drama, Dance Drill Team, Model United Nations, Band, Basketball) to give a taste of what CHS offers. Not only do we want to show school spirit, but also we want to show our character traits in 6 compelling short stories, topping off with a high school musical style finale. GO DONS!

I was informed of a music video contest on Sept. 18th from a friend. We had a total of 12 days to plan, organize, film, and edit this music video. I wanted to truly capture some of the student’s talents at our school and just spotlight general groups that our school is often known for. We are recognized nationally in some degree of a lot of our programs here at Cerritos High School. My job was to try my best to capture it with a short story, meaningful, and pure fun. Our school has so much potential, and it’s our time to shine.

Michael Jackson – “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'” live Dangerous Tour Argentina 1993 – Enhanced – HD

“Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'”, was re-recorded for the 2008 re-issue of Thriller, entitled Thriller 25, similar to “Beat It 2008”, the song was titled on the CD sleeve as “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ 2008 with Akon”. Recorded in 2007, the 2008 version features remix elements and additional vocals from Akon. The 2008 version was written and produced by Akon. “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'” received mixed reviews from contemporary music critics, with critics having felt that while the 2008 version was good, it was not better than the original, but was better than other re-issues on Thriller 25. It was also the last single released during Jackson’s lifetime. Stephen Thomas Erlewine, a writer for Allmusic, commented that “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'” was turned into a “moody piano murk”. He further commented that while the song is not great, “it is better than Fergie parroting the lyrics of “Beat It” back to a recorded Jackson, and it’s better than will.i.am turning “The Girl Is Mine” into a hapless dance number.” Rob Sheffield, a writer for Rolling Stone, commented that “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'” is “actually kind of great” and praised the song’s composition.

The song was released by Epic Records and Legacy Recordings in January 2008, as the second single from the re-issue album. The song was commercially a modest success internationally, charting within the top 20 in several countries, as well charting within the top ten in four territories. The song charted at number three in Sweden and number four in New Zealand. The song also charted at number eight in Australia and number ten in France. “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ 2008” charted at number 15 in Belgium’s Flanders and Wallonia charts. The song also charted at number 20 in Italy. “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ 2008” peaked at number 81 on the Billboard’ Hot 100, giving the song its lowest charting position. The song also charted on Pop charts at number 48, as well as number 47 on the Pop Hot 100 Airplay. Other charting positions include number 47 on the Billboard Hot Digital Songs and the Hot Canadian Digital Singles Chart at number 33. It also peaked at No. 2 on the Dance Club Play Songs, remained in the Top 10 for 10 weeks. WBSS’08 also reached # 19 on the year-end chart of Dance Club Play Song beating Madonna’s 4 Minutes. A music video was also shown on some channels to help promote the single and album; it featured a montage of previous Michael Jackson music videos and concert footage, and also clips of Akon singing his parts.

In the U.S., ABC is the traditional home of the World Music Awards, but in recent years they have moved to MyNetworkTV[citation needed], which rebroadcast the 2006 show on 1 July 2009, due to that show’s tributes to the recently deceased Michael Jackson.

The Diamond Award honors those recording-artists who have sold over 100 million albums during their career. Past recipients include Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Rod Stewart and Bon Jovi. This year’s recipient was Michael Jackson. His most popular album, “Thriller” has sold more than 104 million copies worldwide since its release in 1982 – making it the best-selling album of all time.

LYRICS:

She was more like a beauty queen from a movie scene
I said don’t mind, but what do you mean I am the one, who will dance on the floor in the round
She said I am the one, who will dance on the floor in the round

She told me her name was Billie Jean, as she caused a scene
Then every head turned with eyes that dreamed of being the one
Who will dance on the floor in the round

People always told me be careful of what you do
And don’t go around breaking young girls’ hearts
And mother always told me be careful of who you love
And be careful of what you do ’cause the lie becomes the truth

Billie Jean is not my lover
She’s just a girl who claims that I am the one
But the kid is not my son
She says I am the one, but the kid is not my son

For forty days and for forty nights
The law was on her side
But who can stand when she’s in demand
Her schemes and plans
‘Cause we danced on the floor in the round
So take my strong advice, just remember to always think twice
(Do think twice)

She told my baby we’d danced till three, then she looked at me
Then showed a photo my baby cried his eyes were like mine (oh, no!)
‘Cause we danced on the floor in the round, baby

People always told me be careful of what you do
And don’t go around breaking young girls’ hearts
She came and stood right by me
Then the smell of sweet perfume
This happened much too soon
She called me to her room

Billie Jean is not my lover
She’s just a girl who claims that I am the one
But the kid is not my son

Billie Jean is not my lover
She’s just a girl who claims that I am the one
But the kid is not my son
She says I am the one, but the kid is not my son

She says I am the one, but the kid is not my son
Billie Jean is not my lover
She’s just a girl who claims that I am the one
But the kid is not my son
She says I am the one, but the kid is not my son

She says I am the one, but the kid is not my son
She says I am the one…

Billie Jean is not my lover
Billie Jean is not my lover
Billie Jean is not my lover
Billie Jean is not my lover
Billie Jean is not my lover…

Beyonce’s Best Live Vocal Runs and Riffs

Copyright: None of the following clips belong to me

I’m sorry, I just had to do another Beyonce vocal video. I’m so enamored with her vocal technique that I consider her the “Underestimated Voice of our Generation”- you never know what she is capable of and she consistently grows. This will be my last Bey vid for now, but I wanted to showcase her amazing skilled runs/riffs/inflections. Hands down she has the best

Lil Kim – Black Friday (Nicki Minaj Diss)(Official Music Video)(HD 1080p) 2011

Back in November, Kim dropped the track ‘Black Friday,’ dissing Minaj, and then cast a Minaj lookalike for the song’s music video. Although Minaj has been less aggressive with her response, it doesn’t look like these two will become friendly anytime soon. “I saw her coming in the game like, ‘All you chicks that’s been in the game for 10 years, move over,” Kim explained in an interview with Hot 97’s Angie Martinez. “I thought that was disrespectful. Then she started saying stuff that was almost direct[ly] towards me … and you could tell.”

Minaj’s fondness for colorful wigs and female presence in an all male rap crew, has long been compared to Kim. Yet since dropping her platinum selling debut ‘Pink Friday’ last November, the 26-year-old is slowly but surely etching out her own lane in hip-hop history. “She just really jumped out the window and you got to be careful when you pick fights,” Minaj told Martinez of Kim. “I think people get me mistaken with a real Barbie. They forget where I’m from and if I have to revert back, I can and I will. It’s one of those moments where you say, ‘Don’t play with me,’ because I respect you, I love you, I’ve said it in every interview time and time again, and if that’s not good enough with you mama, then it’s something deep rooted in you,” she reveals. “Something is bothering you inside. That’s your insecurity bothering you. [If] it’s not Nicki Minaj, it would have been any girl that started poppin’. She picked a fight with Foxy [Brown], then she picked a fight with Eve, then she picked a fight with Remy [Ma], then it was Ms. [Voletta] Wallace, then it was Nicki Minaj.”

Alongside the mixtape, Kim is also said to be working on a full-fledged album release.
